BIG Barn Books'n'music

Big Barn Books'n'Music is the UK branch of the GrossenGadenVerlag , Andrew's own publishing company. Andrew founded it in January 2006, together with his wife Andrea and his old schoolmate Stef, in order to have more control over his CDs and books.
So far we have published exclusively Andrew's CDs and books, but in the not so far future we are hoping to take third party products into the barn.
We place our main emphasis on the production of entertainment and educational material for children aged 3 to 12 years (CDs, picture books, books, CD-ROMs).

Quality and sustainability is on top of our priority list - both in content and material. We are not looking for instant success but try to produce lasting products.
All our CDs and books are produced locally in Switzerland rather than in some cheap but faraway country. This is more expensive at first sight but it avoids unneccessary transports, saves jobs and enables us to execute quality control from start to finish.
Whenever possible we use FSC-labelled paper (Forest Stewardship Council). FSC is a stakeholder owned system for promoting responsible management of the world's forests.

But most of all we want the children to have a good time!

This is the view from our office - inspiring isn't it?
Stef Veyre who runs Big Barn for Andrew grew up in the large white house just up the hill. We were best friends then, now we're just colleagues… strictly professional!

Stef by the way is part of Andrew's tour band and will perform in York, too. For years he and his wife owned a language school in the Lake District, so it will feel like coming home to him, too.
